Admissions

St. Alban’s Catholic Primary School is an outstanding catholic school with a wonderfully nurturing environment and our excellent SATs results have made St. Alban's one of the best state-funded primary school in the whole of Surrey.

Our School Moto is ‘Lead the Way’ and this is something we all try to do in our everyday lives. All our children are encouraged to do 10/10 learning in all lessons. We have created a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum that enables our children to become resilient, independent learners and encourages them to take risks, solve problems and think for themselves.

We have a lovely family here at St. Albans and all our children actively become caring members of our school family and wider society.

Governing Body

The governing body is the admissions authority and has responsibility for admissions to St Alban's, including setting the priority of admissions when the school is oversubscribed. The Local Authority undertakes the co-ordination of admission arrangements during the normal admission round. The governing body has set its admission number at 60 pupils to be admitted to the Reception Year in the school year which begins in September.

Please see relevant Admission Policies if you are applying for admission to our next Reception Class or making an in year application for the current year.

Alternatively, if you do not have access to the Internet and you wish to request a printed copy of the admissions arrangements and a response form, please contact Ms Gibson at St. Alban's Catholic Primary School.

Note: The ‘relevant area’ is the area for a school (determined by its Local Authority and then reviewed every two years) within which the admission authority for that school must consult all other prescribed schools on its admission arrangements.

Catchment Area

St Alban’s Catholic Primary School was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. The school is conducted by its governing body as part of the Catholic Church in accordance with the trust deed of the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton articles of association and seeks at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ.

As a Catholic school, the governors aim to provide a Catholic education for all pupils. At a Catholic school, Catholic doctrine and practice permeate every aspect of the school’s activity. The governors ask all parents applying for a place to respect this ethos and its importance to the school community.

Although Catholic children have priority of admission, this does not affect the right of an applicant who is not Catholic to apply for a place for their child at the school. The school welcomes applications from those of other denominations and faiths, or of none.
