Our intent for art across the school is that children become confident in expressing themselves through a variety of artistic media and learn to appreciate a diverse range of art.

Our curriculum enables the children to experience a range of art styles and builds skills progressively through the school. Children are encouraged to review and refine their work through supportive discussion with peers, and to build resilience through trying new techniques.

The diversity of our art curriculum, and exposure to the work of a variety of artists, means that children grow to appreciate that we are all different, but all unique, and have all got something to offer to the wider community. By using art to showcase different lifestyles, different countries and different beliefs, we are helping the children to become global citizens.
